A Simple Question, A Wild Idea
Back in 2015, in the tap room in Atlantic City Country Club, David Rayfield pondered the question: Lots of charity golf events do 90 holes in carts, but could we walk 90 holes on the longest day of the year? Nick Rosetti said, “I’m in!”. An epic tradition was born. The first effort - 90 holes - was completed in 14 hours, 55 minutes led by David Rayfield and Nick Rosetti.
The Ritual Becomes a Movement
With each passing year, the duo raised the bar - reaching 108 holes, then 126 in 2024. Their gear and strategy evolved too: glow balls, headlamps, hydration packs, and strict pacing. From midnight tee times to space-junk sightings, their annual journey is now a well-oiled, madness-fueled machine of endurance and purpose. But adding a few holes a year has no ending. This year they will set the “finish line” at 24 hours, together. All for the CFBNJ. New parties after them can help set new records, and experience the pain, excitement, boredom, fatigue, and beauty of putting it all out -for those who go hungry. The demands of continuous sweating, sleeplessness, insects, heat, and cramps, make it a battle.
Why We Do It
“This is the most interesting and intense thing we do all year. This is an adventure. And it’s sort of a benchmark for our health and fitness. We’re lucky to be able to do this. And what is our limit?”.
This event is unique among golf marathons. It has changed every year. The outcome is unknown. And this year, it will feed a lot of people.
